Order the Kick-Ass costume and get it in plenty of time for Halloween! You can choose between the standard Kick-Ass Costume or the Deluxe. Both will work great, just some differences as far as quality and things that are included, but you simply won’t find a better deal on the Internet. One of the coolest things about being Kick-Ass for Halloween is how much like the original superhero you’re going to look. Since there really hasn’t been a movie like this, where you are a hero, but you made the costume yourself, this costume really is like movie quality, hurry and order it today!

Typically you will have to wait until 2-3 months before Halloween, that’s when they make sure they have all the latest costumes, especially for the latest movies coming out. It’s going to be difficult for any new movie to be as popular as Kick-Ass when it comes to this upcoming Halloween. The bottom line is that when a super movie comes out, the costume is going to do well that year. This is true even for well-established superhero movies.

If the movie doesn’t do that well, you will still see a rise in Halloween costumes for that character. If it comes out, and does very well, you will see a big spike. For instance when Batman Begins came out, that was a well established movie already, and there have been batman costumes out forever, but when that rebooted the franchise, buying that costume online was much more common.

The cool thing about Kick-Ass is that it did well, but it’s also a brand new superhero movie, so the costumes never existed, and that makes this Halloween special for a lot of people because they will wear this costume for the first time. Don’t worry, but the manufacturers know this and you can expect to see more and more of them coming out with there own.

So where are some of the places that you can buy the Kick-Ass Halloween Costume right now? For starters, a great place to check is eBay. What makes this a good place to start looking for costumes online, is that because even if the manufacturers haven’t created the costume to buy yet, there will usually be enthusiasts who have gone above and beyond and started without them. There are certain pros and cons to buying costumes from these types of ventures however.

The pros are that well, if you simply can’t buy premade manufacturer quality Halloween costumes, then it’s a pro that you buy the costume at all. The other good thing is that when you buy these hand-made costumes they are usually high-quality, and virtually one-of-a-kind. The cons are that they usually cost more than average costumes, and that the wait is usually a few weeks. The average cost of the Kick-Ass costume at the time of this writing is about $110-140 dollars. The more common they become the cheaper they will typically become cheaper because of more competition.


Wilfred Costume

It’s almost time for Halloween again and we’ve got a new load of costumes coming out. My favorite is definitely Wilfred, the dog from the show Wilfred on FX. I love the show, and as soon as I saw it I knew what I wanted to be for Halloween. Currently there is only one place selling it, which is the bad news, but the good news is that it’s FX, and it’s the official Wilfred Costume, so you know it’s good, and it’s backed by the creators of the show. It’s not a knock-off, or something that someone made out of their basement. It’s one size fits all, and you can wear it foor people who know who Wilfred is, or one cool thing about is that even if you don’t know who Wilfred is, and they see the costume, they’ll just think you’re going as a huge dog. So it’s really win/win.

Wilfred will need some other stuff not sold with the costume, depending on how authentic you want to look you’ll need some accessories, like Bear, a beard, a black nose and even a bong. Of course you don’t want anything *real* in the bong, just for looks. You could try some dry ice to get the smoke effect, or even put something like tobacco in there if you want to be able to smoke it and make it look super real to the Wilfred we all know and love.

The time is right to buy either of these costumes because you know you’ll be able to get use out of them next year as well. Kick-Ass 2 is geared to come out next year, and Wilfred will have another new season and will maybe even be more popular than it is now. No matter what you decide, you should decide now before you can’t get the Wilfred Costume anymore.

Some have said the official Wilfred costume from FX is too light, and the ears don’t look right. They have a point, but it’s not a make-or-break deal. Plus, if you really want to, and it bothers you that much you can darken the cloth of the material with some dye, or things like coffee grinds. Wilfred from the show does have a darker fur, almost dirty looking, so buy the costume now and spend some time getting it to look right. Imagine it as being a plus, because if you see other Wilfred out as Halloween you will look different and more authentic, so just by spending that extra time getting it to look right will give you that added bonus of looking just like him, while others obviously just bought the costume and have nothing else to do.

Make Your Own Kick-Ass Costume

So you want to make your own kick-ass costume? It’s an awesome movie, and since it’s a home-made type movie, where they make their own costumes, it makes it a little easier to simply make your own instead of going out and buying one and spending a bunch of money.

As it gets closer and closer to this upcoming Halloween I’m sure the kick-ass costume will be one of the big sellers, but for now if you want it you’re pretty much out of luck. Let’s go through the basics on what you would need to create your own.

1. Green scuba suit. As of the time of this writing I can’t find anything that fits the bill well enough. Spandex doesn’t work, because Kick-Ass’s suit is not that tight.

I can’t find any full body green scuba suits either. If you find a good link please send it to me so I can update.

Update 1: I’ve found that some wetsuit/scuba suit companies to do custom wet suits.

It might be worth talking to one and giving them your measurements and ask them to make it in the same shade of green as Kick-Ass.

2. Yellow Gloves. You can use the bright yellow gloves that you’ve seen before that people use to clean.

Here is a good cheap set that you can order online from Office Depot, or you can just pick some up at your local supermarket.

The better quality gloves you buy, the more you will be able to do with them.

Some of the cheaper yellow gloves used for cleaning will restrict what you can do with your hands, so if you plan on doing a lot in your costume like drinking, etc then you should buy the better quality ones which will give you wider range.

3. Yellow Lining. You can use all sorts of material to make the lining, from cotton, nylon, etc.

A good solution might be something like this here that is fairly cheap and should be plenty of material so that when you are cutting it out, if you make a mistake you won’t have to worry about running out too easily.

Sewing it will be your best bet to get it looking right, but you could also use some adhesive to get it to stay as well, although that would likely be less secure.

4. Yellow Work Boots. Find the brightest, yellowest work boots you can find, and hopefully they will be close enough to the gloves/lining in color so that it all flows very naturally.

They don’t have to match exactly because they didn’t in the movie for the kick ass costume, but the same kind of tone will do a good job. These look like a good match here.

5. Fighting Sticks. I’ve found the best solution for his fighting sticks, which really aren’t explained in detail what they are, would be something like relay batons.

They of course wouldn’t be the best solution if you were really wanting to hurt people, but since you don’t want to walk around carrying anything that could cause real danger, just for safety reasons, plus it’s technically illegal.

You can buy some green relay batons or even buy whatever color, and use some dark green tape to get them the exact color you want.

If you are looking to do some real damage, the sticks he used closely resemble escrima sticks.
